Mary Esther Jenkins

Mary Esther Jenkins, born in Corsicana, Texas on September 9th, 1946, passed away at home with her family on January 28th, 2021. Mary lived her life in service to others. She was passionate about her faith and worked to support her church community her entire life. She attended Temple Baptist and Grace Baptist churches, teaching and touching the lives of hundreds of children in Sunday school and teaching women English in her evening ESL classes.
After raising her three children, Mary worked as an instructional assistant with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. She found great joy in helping students through their social and emotional challenges, and her dedication made a difference in the lives of many. Mary was especially known for her generosity, whether it was making food for a needy family, giving someone a ride to church, donating Christmas gifts, or bringing food for students who didn't have any lunch, she never hesitated to help a person in need.
When she talked about her life's purpose, Mary said her most important role was as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, three children, and four grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her twin brother and two sisters who live in Corsicana, Texas.
Mary dedicated her life to her family and her faith, and she is remembered with deepest love and gratitude. A private service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday February 25th, at the Fairfield Funeral Home. Others who knew and loved Mary are encouraged to attend her service virtually.
