THE LEDGER

LAKELAND - Mrs. Mary Orrell Price-Southerland of Lakeland died Sunday (Aug. 29, 1999) at the Highlands Lake Center. She was 90.
Born in Darlington, S. C. on June 5, 1909, she came to Lakeland in 1912. She was an executive secretary for The Ledger for more than 26 years. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy No. 791 and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Elkmates Lodge No. 1291. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Amica Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph R. Price, Sr., and second husband, Solon A. Southerland. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Joseph R. Price, Jr., Vero Beach, and Dr. Henry T. Price, Columbia, S. C.; stepdaughter, Dr. Janice S. Williams, Johnson City, Tenn.; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; five step great grand children and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland. Services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
