Beverly Joan Brinlee, 75, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Heritage Hall. She was born in Streator, Ill., March 20, 1936, to the late Walter and Lucille Kennedy Brennan. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Brennan. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Tulsa and her master of arts degree from the University of Missouri. She was employed for many years as an editor of Research and Extension Publications at Virginia Tech. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Erik Swanson, of White Lake, Mich.; and a son, Steven Brinlee, of New York, N.Y.
A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012, in the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Remi Sojka officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg
