Mr. Yeargin served 3 years in the Army 18th Airborne Corps, 50th Airborne Signal BN. After his military service, he had a lengthy career with Verizon as a union member of CWA local 2205 for 46 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, former president and member of the Peninsula Volkswagen Club and member of First United Church of Christ. In his spare time he loved playing pool, mowing his lawn with his John Deere rider, working in his garden, watching old Western movies, listening to Elvis, fishing, playing cards, riding his Harley and his Volkswagen bugs, and spending time with his family; he especially loved attending all the grandkids dances and sporting events.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ludie Yeargin as well as seven siblings. He was survived by his sons, Kevin (Nhu) and Matthew (Jennifer); six grandchildren, Sean Quachyeargin, Bryen Quachyeargin, Myles Quachyeargin, Donald Borst Jr, Kathryn Yeargin and Kristina Yeargin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home. There will be a private service and burial at Parklawn Memorial Park.
