Cecil Harvey Blankenship, 77, of the Mount Pleasant Community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday February 6, 2020.
He was born in the Dry Hollow area of Salem, on June 2, 1943, son of the late Ralph Junior, and Sallie Frances Bohon Blankenship.
Cecil retired from the Fred Whittaker Company as a machinist after many years of service. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant UMC and sang in the choir
He enjoyed going to flea markets, spending time with his god children taking them fishing and being a role model for them.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Blankenship; several cousins. He was Paw Paw Cecil to his seven god children, Rahim Tarit Jaylyn, Leanna, Kameron, Brayson, and Mariah.
His family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.

Gravesite Details
A committal service burying his ashes near the gravesite of his paternal grandfather was conducted the 3rd of June 2021 at Camp Roanoke's Blankenship family burial.
