James Linkous, 80-year-old retired Bland county farmer of Hicksville, died July 17, at St. Luke's hospital, after an illness of about one week. His death was due to a stomach ailment.
Mr. Linkous had been in failing health for more than a year and he took a turn for the worse about two weeks ago, and was removed to the hospital.
He is survived by on son, Robert Linkous, of Cleveland, Ohio; three stepchildren, Abbott Morris and Theo Morris, of Pulaski, and Mrs. Jessie Johnson, of Bluefield, Va. He is also survived by one brother, John Linkous, of Athens.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 3 o'clock, at the Linkous home. Burial followed in the family cemetery.
