Clara Burns, 88, St. Augustine, formerly of Pittsburgh, died February 26, 2021. Born February 28, 1932 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Fred C. Sr. and Finvola (Ewing) Prom. Preceded in death by significant other, Richard Pfeil, and brothers: Fred Jr. and William Prom. Survived by children, Sharon (Rich) Hey of R.D. Patton and Gary (Bonnie Anna) of R.D. Dysart, 5 grandchildren: Melissa (Jake) Ortega, Jason (Missy) Hey, Mitchell Nagle (Abby), Lindsey Daisley and Amy Nagle, and 6 great grandchildren. Clara was last member of her immediate family. She enjoyed going to the casinos and also playing bingo. She worked as a waitress at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Pittsburgh for many years. Member of the Mt. Troy Fire Company Auxiliary, the Bereavement Committee, Parish Council and Holy Name Catholic Church, Pittsburgh. Friends will be received from 10AM until noon, Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Rev. Jerzy Auguscik, Celebrant. Due to the COVID situation, Masks will be required at Mass. Interment will be at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Augustine Catholic, in Clara’s memory. www.gibbonsfhashvillecoalport.com
