Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Matthews Smith, 67, of Mansfield, were held at 2pm Sept 22, in the chapel of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home. The Rev. Foster Jennings officiated. Burial followed at Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Smith, a native of Campti, died Sept 20, at 11:20am at her residence. She was a nurse. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Claudine Sewell of Houston, TX, Mrs. Doris Scallion of Logansport, and Mrs. Linda Wilson of Pleasant Hill; two sons, Glenn Smith of Mansfield and Sam Smith of Meridian, MS; her mother, Mrs. Emma McKay of Mansfield; one brother, Aaron Matthews of Angleton, TX; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Stephen Sewell, Charles Sewell, Doyle Odom, Herman Timmons, Joe Presley, Jeffrey Furlong, Daniel Ramsey and Jack Smith.
