Sally (Alden) Maynard, age 78 yrs, of Middleboro died Saturday August 8, 2009, at Morton Hospital Taunton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Wilfred Roy Maynard, who predeceased her in June of 1986. She was the daughter of the late Myles Standish and Persis (Taylor) Alden. She was a graduate of Middleboro High School . Sally possessed many talents, which included Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Leader. She was an accomplished artist, a talented piano player, and also an excellent cook. She previously worked in the Norton and Lakeville School systems, The MayFlower Bank, The Middleboro Gazette, with both Clint Clark and Rene Wood, and the Bishop Rocco House for Troubled Teens for the Boston Archdiocese. She also worked with the American Lung Association and most recently had worked with the elderly in the area. She will be warmheartedly remembered as a devoted mother, aunt, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the granddaughter of Charles L Alden of the Alden Kindred Association, whose members are the original decedents of the Mayflower. She is survived by one son; Stephen and his wife Diane Maynard, and their son; Matthew Bradshaw and Jayne, all of Taunton, her nieces; Jan Phillips of Plymouth, Lauren Song of Vero Beach, FL, and great nieces; Lisa Kozlin, Lydia Touzet, and Julie Song. She was the sister of the late Joan Fuller and Jean Lomasney, who were her twin sisters. Private arrangements are being handled by the Egger Funeral Home, Middleboro.
