Winifred "Winnie" H. Lee, 89, of 631 North Main St., Mellen, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at the Mellen Manor Nursing Home in Mellen.
Winnie was born Oct. 21, 1910, in Chisholm, Minn., the daughter of Robert E. and Winifred (Dolan) Lee. She was a Dominican Order Nun out of Sinsinawa, and was a grade school teacher in the Catholic school system for over 36 years. She was a true Christian soldier, who will be missed by her family and many friends.
Winnie is survived by one sister, Catherine Sullivan, Jackson, Miss.; one brother, Bill (Kay) Lee, Mellen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Bob, Tom, Donald and John Lee; and two sisters, Margaret Peters and Elizabeth Lee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mellen, with Fr. John Sheer as celebrant.
Spring interment will take place in Mellen Union Cemetery, Mellen.
