Mrs. Bass, wife of former University of South Carolina Head Coach and Athletic Director, Marvin C. Bass, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 1996, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Newport News, Va., she was a daughter of the late Linwood H. Wallace, Sr. and Pearl Mayo Wallace. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of William and Mary College, a member of gamma Phi Betta Sorority and was listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin Crosby Bass of Blythewood, son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Randolph Bass (Randy) and Debbie), grandsons, Lee Randolph Bass and Rhett Mekenzie Bass, all of Columbia.
The family wished to express its sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the caring attitude and exceptional medical care provided by the staffs of Providence Hospital, 4th Floor, East, and the Life Care Center of Columbia.
