Donal Barrer, 67, retired chief of the operations research group and an expert fly fisherman, died of cancer Sept. 12 1989 at Suburban Hospital.

Mr. Barrer, who lived in Rockville, was born in Evanston, Ill. He graduated from Rippon College. He received a master's degree in meteorology at New York University and master's degrees in mathematics and physics at Northwestern University.

During World War II, he served in the Army Air Forces as a pilot and meteorologist in the Pacific.

In 1951, he moved to the Washington area. He was an operations research analyst. Donald Barrer-Secratary of the National Chapter (Washington DC.) of "Trout Unlimited" U.S.A. 1980.

He was the son of Glen and Wilhelmina (Yocum) Barrer and brother to Robert William Barrer, all buried at Oak Woods c.,Chicago, Ill.
He was the grandson of
Robert Barrer.
