Opal Arlene Reynolds was born to AI and Lillie Reynolds October 8, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa.

She was baptized in 1939 at Indianola Heights Christian Church in Des Moines where she remained a member until her marriage.

Graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines June, 1946; was employed by the Des Moines school board as a stenographer and later as a payroll clerk.

Married Rev. Robert Seals, July 20, 1947. They first resided in Bondurant, IA where they served the Christian Church. In 1950 they moved to Wray, Colorado where they served the Christian Church and from there to Enid, Oklahoma where Bob attended Phillips University, graduating with a Bachelors of divinity and a Masters of divinity while serving the Drummond, Oklahoma congregational church. They were a family of eight when they moved to Topeka, Kansas, where they served Central Park Christian Church in 1961 and to Westwood Christian Church, in Westwood, Kansas in 1964 where they served for nearly 10 years. During that time Opal worked as a lab technician at KU Medical Center. Following years were in Oak Grove Christian Church in Kansas; Tall Oaks Conference Center where they served an interim as Director and Secretary; Yates Center, KS and Lathrop, Missouri. They retired in 1990 and moved to Edwardsville, Kansas. They served the Missouri City Church for eight years. They later moved to their present home in Kansas City, Kansas.

Opal was a charter member of Shawnee Park Christian Church and currently a member Merriam Christian Church where she was honored to be an elder emeritus. She was active in Christian women’s fellowship wherever she lived and also sang in the choirs of those churches.

Her family was her greatest pride and gave her much joy. She enjoyed Bluegrass music and attended festivals whenever possible. She and Bob led worship services at some of those and were thrilled to be able to sing with several of the performers.
