Mary Lou (Wiley) Jumper, 81, left her earthly home on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at her home in Sycamore Springs to join the great spirit in Heaven. Mary was a full blood Cherokee Indian and was a fluent speaker of the Cherokee language. She was also a member of the Cherokee Nation. Mary was born on February 29, 1940 in Delaware County to her parents, Levi and Lulu (Swake) Wiley of Jay, OK. Mary married Jess Jumper, the love of her life on August 6, 1964. They made their home in Sycamore Springs, OK. Mary attended School at Mt. Hermon in Jay, OK. She spent her entire life in the Sycamore Springs area. Mary worked for the Jay School District for many years. She enjoyed Pow Wows, Stomp Dancing, crafting, quilting, camping, picnics, eagle watching, spending time with her family, and listening to her sons and grandsons play music. She was a lady of strong faith and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church of Jay, OK. Her family loves her dearly and will miss her very much. They will always keep her memory alive and continue enjoying the things she enjoyed doing in her memory. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Lulu Wiley; her husband, Jess Jumper; son, Jeff Jumper; grandson, Michael Hodson and brother, Wesley Wolf. She is survived by her brother, Andy Wolf of Pryor, OK; her sons, Jess Jumper of Tagg Flats, Ronald Jumper, Randall Jumper and Danny Jumper all of Jay, OK; her daughters, Abbie Foreman of Jay, OK, Jennifer Hodson of Kenwood, OK, Tammy Goforth of Eucha, OK and Jonell (Jo) Jumper of the home; 36 plus grandchildren along with great-grandchildren; numerous family and friends.
Mary’s Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 3:00pm, March 7, 2021 at the Jumper’s residence in Sycamore Springs, Jay, OK, followed by her family visitation to greet friends. Mary’s Celebration Of Life Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2:00pm, Sycamore Springs Baptist Church, Jay, OK with Pastor Chester Crittenden and Pastor Booly Forrest Officiating. Burial will follow to Sycamore Springs Cemetery, Jay, OK.
