Born in Sinking Spring, a son of the late Franklin and Rose (Waltman) Wieder, he was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington, and Mohnton POS of A.
Wieder was employed by the Hendel Hat Factory for 32 years, retiring in 1931. He also operated a bakery route from 1921 to 1946.
Surviving are his widow, Sarah (VonNeida) Wieder; five sons: Luther V., James F., Clair H., and C. Richard, all of Shillington, and LeRoy, Ephrata, and a daughter, Fern E., wife of Howard Boyer, Shillington.
Also, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mamie, wife of Adam Huyett, Shillington, and Edna, wife of Clair Hoffman, Reading, and two brothers, James W., Shillington, and Harold, Reading.
Funeral services will be held in the Gosnell Funeral Home, Shillington, on Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Thomas W. Rhoads officiating. Burial will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington.
