Born in Clearfield County, PA she moved to DeLand, Volusia County, FL 48 years ago from San Antonio, TX. She was a homemaker and was very active in her church. She was a member of the Ladies of the Rosary Altar Society and worked closely with them. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and was devoted to her church and family.

She is predeceased by her husband, George Bryan Pettingill. She is survived by sons, George Pettingill and Mark Pettingill, both of Deland, FL; daughtes, Patricia Mandase, Deland, FL, Olga Buckley, DeLeon Springs, FL, Katherine Blymire, Seville, FL; brother, Arnold Bertecho, Honesdale, PA; sister, Anna Gene Johnson, Pine City, NY; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
