Marcus Berry, 1883 Pioneer, Dies at 90
Marcus J. Berry, retired farmer and pioneer of South Seattle, died yesterday at his home. Mr. Berry suffered a heart attack while digging a drainage ditch in the garden. Born in Culpepper, Virginia, Mr. Berry came to the Puget Sound area in 1883 and settled on a homestead at Angle Lake. He had lived in Burien since 1885. Mr. Berry donated the land on which Angle Lake School stands. Surviving are his wife Sarah; two sons Lloyd Berry, Kent and Lee Berry, Pasco, Franklin Co.; and two daughters Mrs. Esther Magnuson, Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Mytris Chichester, Port Orchard.
