Joe L. Barney, 72, of Elsinore, Utah, died Oct. 11 at his home.
Mr. Barney was a native of Elsinore, Utah. He lived in Modesto 44 years. He was an ironworker for Klinger Steel, Stockton, for 45 years. He was a member of the Model A Club. And he belonged to E Clampus Vitus , Estanislaus Chapter 58. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife,Beatrice Pauline Barney of Elsinore; children, Joseph Patrick Barney and Merry Jo McVey, both of Modesto, and Wayne Lee and Marge Barney, both of Santa Maria; brothers, Arnold Barney of Elsinore and Benjamin Barney of Richfield, Utah; sisters, Nita B. Davidson of Elsinore, Lorna Hansen of Richfield, Utah, and Eleanor Barney of Salt Lake City; and three grandchildren. Services were conducted.
