Steven Joseph "Steve" Berthelot, a retired commercial fisherman and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was entrusted to God's loving care on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in Donaldsonville. He was a lifelong resident of Pierre Part.

Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, until Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pierre Part,with the Rev. Clarence Waguespack, celebrant. Entombment in the church cemetery.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Delores Leonard Berthelot, Pierre Part; three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Pat Martinez, Baton Rouge, Margaret and Philip Crochet, Port Hudson, and Helena and Stephen Michell, Donaldsonville; 11 grandchildren, Mandy, Kristen, Mikylyn, Daina, Tricia, Nicole, Patrick, Christian, Ashley, Lindsay and Tiffany; and 11 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jacob, Matthew, Victoria, Eric, Christian, Reid, Nicholas, Kaileigh, Emma and Brayden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Mabile; parents, Ullysses and Adia Blanchard Berthelot; three brothers, Cleveland, Gleason and Risley Berthelot; and two sisters, Adeline B. Breaux and Addie B. Hue.

Mr. Steve was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
