Margaret E. Thompson, 95, a 35- year resident of Sun City, AZ, and
more recently of Temple, TX passed away peacefully at Canyon Creek Memory Care in Temple on Friday, February 26, 2021. She was born February 20, 1926, in Lewisville, TX, to A.C. and Sophia Giles. Margaret was the widow of her loving husband, Wilbur Wayne (Tommy) Thompson to whom she married on January 14, 1978, in Dallas, TX. He preceded her in death January 22, 2010, in Sun City. AZ. The two met each other while both were employed by Braniff International Airways in Dallas where they then resided. Tommy was a pilot and Margaret was employed as an accounting clerk in the airlines office. Tommy was an avid golfer which played a part in their decision to relocate in Sun City in in 1985 after the two retired from the airlines. Margaret was a devout Baptist and daughter of a Baptist minister. She and Tommy were frequent travelers together, and she also enjoyed, reading, crossword puzzles, church attendance, and participating in numerous activities provided by the Sun City community. Margaret’s life will always be remembered for a strong love of family and friends, and it was returned in kind by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tommy; son, Douglas Thomas and daughter Cheri Rushing; her two sisters, Franklin LaVerne Conway of Oklahoma City and Lora Droze of Irving, TX, and one step-son. She is survived by numerous step-children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
