Cemetery records give her age as 85 years old and spell her first name as Ellna. U.S. Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Swedish American Church Records for Omaha, Nebraska list her date of birth as January 25, 1869 in Sweden and her confirmation date as May 2, 1882 in Boone, Iowa. Her maiden name was listed as Thorson. Census records also put her date of birth as 1869. Most records spell her name as either Elna, Ellen, or Ella.

She was listed as Ella Nelson, age 21, the daughter of A. Nelson and C. Tholson on her marriage license, dated July 18, 1889 in Omaha, Nebraska. Her residence at the time was listed at Boone, Iowa.

Swedish birth index lists her as the daughter of Anders Nilsson and Kjersti Torkelsdotter. It appears her father died in Sweden on October 22, 1875.

The 1900 census states she was the mother of 2 children, both living. The 1910 census states she was the mother of 3 children, only 1 still living.

FUNERAL OF MRS. THORSON TO BE HELD SUNDAY

Mrs. Keristen Thorson, born at Skone, Sweden, June 10, 1828, died Thursday at the home of her daugher, Mrs. John A. Swanson, 4025 Izard street, Omaha. Mrs. Thorson was the mother of 10 children, five of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Anna Ehrenberg, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. D. F. Moon, Des Moines, Ia; Mrs. Carl Peelstrom, Madrid, Ia.; Mrs. John A. Swanson, Omaha, and one son, Peter Thorson, Boone, Ia.

Mrs. Thorson came to America from Sweden in August of 1881, bringing her family of 10 children, following the death of Mr. Thorson.

Mrs. Thorson is also survived by a sister living in Torlap, Sweden, aged 99 years. Mrs. Thorson had the distinction of having 28 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild, five generations living in Des Moines, Ia., and four in Omaha.

For the last 15 years Mrs. Thorson had made her home in Omaha with her daughter, Mrs. John A. Swanson, from whose home the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon.
