After going to college and serving in World War II, Frank decided to audition for a voice-over job at a local radio station. His distinctive voice and contagious laugh landed him a gig as television's first nationally-syndicated Bozo the Clown, the world's most famous clown.
Frank played Bozo the Clown in Boston, from 1959-1970. He was a legendary television and radio personality.
He went on to become a favorite of New England television viewers for over 40 years and won two Emmy awards.
Survived by his wife; sons Avruch of Westlake Village, CA and his significant other Jocelyn Eberstein, as well as Steven Avruch and Edward MacLean of Boston; and 2 grandchildren.
Brother of Evelyn Goodell.
