Lifetime resident Ella Zella Moore,96,died Wednesday,April 27,1994 at Northwest Kansas Regional Medical Center in Goodland. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past 10 days.
Funeral services will be held Saturday,April 30 at 2 p.m. at the Girst United Methodist Church in Goodland. Dr. Chet Ross wil officiate services with burial in the Goodland Cemetery.
Ella Zella Moore was born Dec. 15, 1897 on the family farm in southwest Sherman County. She was the daughter of Christian Pete Peterson and Ida May Sprague Peterson. Ella grew up in Sherman County and attended rural schools.
Ella was married Oct 23, 1917 to Carl Scott Moore at the family home south of Ruleton. After their marriage,the couple farmed. In 1962, Ella went to work for the Good Samaritan Center in Goodland as a cook. After the death of her husband in 1963, shewent to work in the lunchroom at the Sherman Community High School. She retired from the school in 1971 and went to work in the kitchen at the Boothroy Memorial Hospital.
Ella was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Circle 2 at the time of her death.
Ella was survived by a daughter Bertha and her husband Lowell Duell of Cheney,Kan.,and a daughter-in-law Vivian Moore of Goodland,seven grandchildren,20 great-grandchildren,three great-great grandchildren,brother,Vernia Peterson and wife Burneta of Paonia,Colo.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents,her husband Carl and a son Floyd Moore.
