Floyd E. Moore,71,lifelong Sherman County resident died Thursday evening at the Northwest Kansas Regional Medical Center after an apparent heart attack. He was taken to the hospital after becoming ill at his home.

Services will be Monday, Nov. 8 at 10a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland with Dr. Tom Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.

Floyd was born on June 23 on the family farm located in the southwest part of Sherman County. He was the son of Carl S. and Ella Z. Peterson Moore. He received his schooling in Sherman County School District. Floyd married Vivian M. Hayden on Dec. 9,1941 in Sharon Springs and they continued to farm on the family farm. In 1974, Floyd went to work for Clawson Electric where he was still employed at the time of his death. Mr. Moore's hobbies included gardening and yard work. He loved caring for his family,especially his grandson.

Survivors include his wife,Vivian Moore of Goodland; sons Derry Moore of Goodaland, and Floyd Moore Jr. of Colby;daughter Vicki Wilson of Goodland;mother Ella Moore of Goodland;sister Bertha Duell of Cheney;nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one infant granddaughter.
