SAMUEL L. MYERS
TAKEN BY DEATH

Samuel L. Myers, age 84, E 524 Carlisle avenue, died at St. Luke's hospital yesterday afternoon. He had been a resident of Spokane for five years and had been prominent in fraternal activities of the state and country.

He was a member of G. A. R. Sedgwick Corps, F. and A. M. at Northport, Odd Fellows, and was Mayor of Port Angeles several years ago. During the civil war, he served under General Sherman in the famous march through Georgia.

He is survived by his widow, Mary E. Myers, four sons, Homer of Winfield, Kan., Clarence of Salina, Kan., John W. of Burlington, Kan., and Harry of Gary, Ind.; a brother, Reuben, of New York, and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Van Buren, of Stockport, N.Y.

The G. A. R. will have charge of the services. Funeral arrangements have not been made, pending the arrival of relatives.

Enlisted as a Private on 9 May 1861 at the age of 21.
