He attended St. Paul’s school, graduated from Bolles School in 1946 and from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) class of 1950. He was president and owner of Diesel Shipbuilding Co. until the property was sold in 1982 at which time he and two of sons organized Coppedge Marine Inc., distributors of marine and Industrial equipment. He was a past president (1964) of the Propeller Club, Port of Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Assumption Early Childhood Learning Center or a Charity of your choice.
Family Visitation will be at 9:30 am on Friday, August 24 at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, followed by a 10:00 am Memorial Service. Burial will take place at a different date and is limited to immediate family only.
