Mr. Dickman was a retired laborer and construction worker for Laborers Local 477 and was a foreman at Standard Concrete. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was an avid Cardinals fan and fisherman. He enjoyed bowling and loved gardening, especially his tomatoes.
Surviving are his wife, Marion L. Dickman; three daughters, Rhonda Dickman-Creviston of Springfield, Loretta Goetz of Springfield and Belinda (husband, Steve) Steskal of Pawnee; three grandsons; two granddaughters; seven sisters, Betty (husband, George) Powell of Springfield, Mary Jane Knight of Springfield, Karen (husband, Johnny) Williams of Pekin, Sharon (husband, Mike) Garvin of Auburn, Lana Sue Barton of Rochester, Cindy (husband, Dale) Phillips of Springfield and Susan Kay (husband, Rodney) Wilson of Beardstown; a sister-in-law, Ruth Dickman of Springfield; three brothers, Henry Bud (wife, Ann) Dickman, William Bill (wife, Cathy) Dickman and Douglas (wife, Barb) Dickman, all of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services Oct. 3, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Olson officiating. Burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Air Force.
