A. Nelson Hazard of 57 Benjamin St; Pawtucket, owner of the Frank W. Davie Trucking Company, died Thursday in The Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Beatrice L. (Wood) Hazard.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Albert and Maybelle (Davie) Hazard who died a few days apart in the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic when Albert was 7. Mr. Hazard operated the trucking company at home for many years. He was a World War 11 Navy Veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, James A. Hazard a teacher at Western Hills Junior High School, Cranston; a daughter, Mrs. Meredith McAloon of Block Island, and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the V.J. McAloon and Son Funeral Home, 213 Garden St; Pawtucket. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket.
