Lori Jean Alba, 56 passed on Monday, March 8, 2021. Lori was born in San Marcos, Texas to Leno Lerma Alba and Olivia Herrera Contreras on August 12, 1964. She took pride in being her mothers’ last child and often referred to herself as her baby.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leno Alba; and her mother, Olivia Contreras.

Lori is survived by her brothers, Samuel Alba and wife Louwyn, James Alba Sr., Lino Alba Jr and wife Stacie, Perry Alba and wife Joanna, David Rodriguez, Adam Alba and wife Krystal; sisters, Joann Martinez and ex-husband Ricky Martinez, Michelle Davila and husband JP, Carmen Alba; numerous nieces and nephews; close family and many friends.

Lori was truly one of a kind. She loved playing pool and was very good at it and if she was given the opportunity, she always showed off her skills. Lori also loved to cook, and this was one of the many ways she showed her love. Many of her family loved when she would cook enchiladas, spaghetti, and puffy tacos.

Lori loved music and this was evident when it came to her lifelong career in the music industry. She was very talented and had great speaking skills which made her smooth voice, perfect for the radio. Besides being a radio show host, she also wrote a few articles for a magazine, interviewed many Tejano stars, and was an advertising manager for her dear friend, Patsy Torres.

Lori had no children, so besides her dog, Tazer, her nieces and nephews filled that void, which made her like a mother to many. When her nieces and nephews were younger, she loved taking them to places like Malibu Race Trak and Celebration Station, and Taco Bell. Aunt Loris’ philosophy, “No money, no problem.” She would scrounge up any change she had to make something happen for them. She loved giving gifts, and if she did not have anything new, she found something from her own belongings to give.

Lori loved family gatherings and wanted everything to be perfect with plenty of food for everyone. Lori lived this life she wanted. She spent her last days devoted to caring for her mother and making her mother as comfortable and happy as she could. She often referred to it as spoiling her baby. Lori was devastated when she lost her father and often said that when God calls her mother home that she hopes He calls her too.

Lori's way of telling others, goodnight was, “Sleep with the angels, baby.” Now she is doing just that.

Visitation 10:00 am on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home 2620 South Congress with Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery, Dripping Springs, Texas.
