Richard C. Zeigler, 79, of Gettysburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 at his home.

Born Sept. 14, 1928 in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Elsie K. (Wilson) Zeigler. He was the husband of Janet (Rutherford) Zeigler to whom he was married to for 54 years.

Mr. Zeigler was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserves, the United States Army, and the United States Air Force. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. He worked for Fiberglass as a quality control man for 11 years. He was an FCC supervisor for their Amateur Radio division. He also worked as a lab technician for the Department of Agriculture for the State of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Gettysburg American Legion.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Zeigler is survived by one son, Robert W. Zeigler of Gettysburg; two granddaughters, Sonya Ewing and her husband Dallas of Carlisle and Danielle Zeigler of Carlisle.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard L. Zeigler.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with his pastor, the Rev. Stephen Herr officiating. Interment will take place at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
