Sarah Winter was born in August 1849 in New Jersey. She was the daughter of Dr. Peter Winter and Joanna Blair Winter. She married Charles Alphonso Dibble on June 29, 1870, in Horicon, Wisconsin. After he died, she then married Fred H. Barnes on January 31, 1914, in Cook County, Illinois. She died on June 12, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 83.
