George Sperb, 78, of 2201 Erie Ave., died at St. Nicholas Hospital Wednesday evening after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sheboygan on Feb. 2. 1893, he was a son of the late Fred and Marie Sperb.
On Nov. 17, 1962, he married Ann Gross in Sheboygan.
Mr. Sperb did carpenter work in the Sheboygan area for many years, retiring in 1970. He then served as a custodian of Moose Hall. He was a member and past president of the Loyal Order of Moose, Sheboygan Lodge 438.
Survivors include his wife: a daughter; Mrs. Dolores Bahr, Kiel, three step-sons, Fred Schindler, Sheboygan, and Raymond and Edward Hartman, both of Chicago; seven grandchildren; none great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Anderson, Palatine, Ill.
A great-grandchild preceded him in death,
Funeral services are pending at Nickel's Funeral Home and have tentatively been set for Saturday. Arrangements will be announced Friday.

Gene Krueger, assistant pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate. Cremation will follow. Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Sperb was a member and past governor of the Loyal Order of Moose, Sheboygan Lodge 438.
