Funeral services for Victor Henning Benson, 81, Gallatin Gateway, who died Sunday at Bozeman, were conducted Wednesday at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.

The Rev. Lyle Onstad officiated. Burial was in Soldier’s Chapel. Organist was Mrs. Ray Brown and soloist, Charles Rice.

Pallbearers were Jack Hume, Howard Kelsey, Bill Hake, Bud Clark, John Haynes and Slim Biddle.

He was born April 5, 1892 at Duluth, Minnesota, son of August and Cecilia (Swanson) Benson. He was married to Eda Kindler on May 27, 1924 at Big Timber.

Benson came to Bozeman in 1912 and he was manager of the Stoner-Dean-Wells Co., a wholesale grocery store. In 1925 he started the Covered Wagon Ranch in Gallatin Gateway. He was a dude rancher since that time and he was a veteran of WW I.

Survivors include his wife, Eda; a son, Victor H. Benson, Jr.; and a brother, Fritz W. Benson, Annandale, Minn.
