He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church; played in the Shrine Band, sang with the Consistory Singers and the St. James Choir; was an avid painter and liked to build model airplanes.

Survivors: son, John of Hutchinson; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Richard Smith of Wichita; two grandchildren. Memorial established with Kansas Humane Society, 4218 Southeast Blvd., Wichita, KS 67210. DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary.
