Alma Lee Spruill Basnight, 77, of Manteo, NC died Monday, April 2, 2018, at Peak Resources – Outer Banks. Born in Columbia, NC on March 27, 1941, she was the daughter of Minnie Taft Spruill of East Lake, NC and the late Joseph Nathaniel Spruill.
Along with her mother, Alma is survived by three daughters, Jewel Basnight Yates of Virginia Beach, VA, Sherri Basnight of Manteo, NC and Cassie Basnight of East Lake, NC; three sons, Lambert Basnight of Manteo, NC, Jamie Basnight of Hampton, VA and David Shane Basnight of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are two sisters, Marian Niser of Creswell, NC and Dianne Wilson of Gum Neck, NC; and one brother, Tommy Spruill of Gum Neck, NC.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
