The Idaho Post, Moscow, Idaho, June 20, 1919: "This afternoon at 2 o'clock occurred the funeral services of Mrs. Lizzie Murphy, at Grice's chapel, Rev. E.J. Cole officiating. Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of James Nifong, a pioneer, who lived northwest of Moscow. Mrs. Murphy was about 60 years of age and died at Weiser, Idaho, from a stroke of paralysis. Many of their former neighbors attended the funeral."
