William C. Andreavich, Jr., 72 of Newark, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters on Monday, January 20, 2014.

Born in Johnstown, PA on April 4, 1941, Bill moved to New Castle, DE in 1954 and was a graduate of William Penn High School, class of 1959. He served in the Delaware Air National Guard for 6 years. Bill began his career as a police officer with the Newark Police Department, serving from 1963 to 1965. He went onto proudly serve with the Delaware State Police, achieving the rank of Sergeant and retiring in 1985 after 20 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement from the State Police, Bill worked in security at the DuPont Experimental Station from 1985 to 1993, and then became employed with the Christina School District as a bus aid for disabled children, retiring in 2002. Bill was a devoted member of First State Remote Control Club and had a passion for flying model airplanes. He also enjoyed masonry work and loved to build things.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemary Andreavich.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his beautiful wife of 45 years, Joanne Sloan Andreavich; his five daughters, Renee Pak and partner, Richard Jester, Kathy and Conrad DeMatties, Jessica and Danny Andreavich, Sherry and Devin Leitner and his special angel, Amanda Andreavich; his grandchildren, Dennis, Nathaniel and Eleanor Johnson, Pamela Pak, Katelyn and Joanna Yingling, Elayna and Devin Leitner Jr., and Matt and Cody Morgan; and his sons-in-law, Dennis Johnson Sr. and Jeffrey C. Morgan.
