Blanche I. (Bernadt) Conradt Trompeter, 100, of Tecumseh, passed away March 22, 2021 at the Bickford Assisted Living Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born to Joseph F. and Mary (Hauner) Bernadt on January 2, 1921 on the farm near Steinauer, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch and Father Michael Christensen officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
Memorials may go to the family's choice.
Interment will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, rural Steinauer, Nebraska.

Blanche Imelda (Bernadt) Conradt Trompeter was born on a farm near Steinauer, Nebraska to Joseph F. and Mary (Hauner) Bernadt on January 2, 1921 . She attended St. Anthony grade school and graduated from Steinauer High School in 1938. After high school, Blanche attended business college in Lincoln, Nebraska studying secretarial work. After completing her business training, Blanche worked briefly in Lincoln before moving to Washington, D.C.in the fall of 1941 where she began work as a stenographer for the federal government's War Production Board. In 1943, Blanche transferred with the federal government to San Francisco, CA. After the war ended, she remained in San Francisco.
She was united in marriage to Leonard J. "Ace" Conradt also of Steinauer, Nebraska, who was a U.S. seaman during the war in the Pacific, on Nov. 29, 1945 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska. They lived in San Francisco until the spring of 1947 when they returned to Nebraska to farm. On September 2, 1953, Leonard died leaving Blanche with four boys, Robert- seven years old, Jerome-five years old, Edward-one year old and Martin-one week old. With the help of friends and family, Blanche was able to remain on the farm. On July 22, 1957, Blanche married Joe Trompeter. From this union, Blanche bore two children, Ann and Thomas. Blanche always spoke of how good and loving Joe was to her and her six children. In 1967, Blanche began working at the Campbell's Soup Company in Tecumseh, Nebraska as a lab technician. She spent twenty years working there and retired in 1987. After retirement, Joe and Blanche remained on the farm until 1994 when they moved to Tecumseh, primarily because both were losing their eye sight. Joe passed away Oct. 26, 2005. Blanche remained in her home in Tecumseh until June, 2020 when she moved to the Bickford Senior Living Facility in Lincoln, Nebraska where she passed from this world on March 22, 2021 at the earthly age of 100 years.
For all of her life, Blanche dedicated herself to serving her family and others in need. Her love of her Catholic faith was paramount in her life. She also loved gardening, taking walks (she walked two miles every day until one day she became lost due to her growing vision problems) and reading romance novels. Blanche will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were recipients of her love and charity.
Blanche is survived by her sons, Jerome Conradt of Tecumseh, Edward Conradt of Lincoln, Thomas Trompeter of Lincoln, daughter-in-law, Pat Michielutti of TX, son-in-law, Don Poland of Lincoln, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Kathryn Conradt, Nora and Ambrose Hugo, Olivia and Omer Kalin and Ruth and Robert Wenzl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Leonard Conradt and Joe Trompeter, sons, Robert and Martin, daughter, Ann Poland, sisters, Emma (Sister Mary Berchmans, O.S.B), Grace, Lillian Masur, Anna and Mary and brothers, Laurence, Carl and Joseph and brother-in-law, Leonard Masur.
