Feb. 1908
The youngest child of A.J. Strickling, living near the old Hopewell church, died last Saturday morning about 5 o'clock. It had been ailing for some time with lung trouble and later quinsy. For three days and nights its suffering was intense, but all that tender care could be was done until the little spark of life went out, thus relieving it of its suffering. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Nankin, Rev. Dessenberg officiating. Interment was made in the Orange cemetery. The respect and sympathy for the parents and little one was shown by the many floral offerings. Grover Strickling of Pavonia, Jay Strickling of Woodsfield, O., John Strickling, George Stackhouse and wife of Ashland were some of those who attended the funeral. Josiah Nell and wife of Summer, Illinois also attended.

William A., infant son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Stricking, was born March 3, 1907, in Monroe county, Ohio, and died February 15, 1908, in Ashland county, being at the time of death 11 months and 14 days of age. The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. L. Desenberg, assisted by rev. J. H. Steed. The remains were laid to rest in the Orange cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
