SURNAME WAS ORIGINALLY "BOOTHROYD" per a family descendant, Leslie Larson-Bennett.

son of: Benjamin Boothroyd & Abigail Harrison of Swinefleet.

Immigrated from Hull to NY on 28 May 1835. Settled in (Amherst)Cheektowaga, Erie County, NY in 1838. Owned 100 acres of land in Cheektowaga, NY. Farmer and milk dealer and would serve as the Town of Cheektowaga Auditor.
His two wives, Mary Gardner Colsworth and Elizabeth Jefferson, both of England, are also buried in this cemetery.

Per family history, a decade after George immigrated he asked his sister Susannah and her husband Richard Barker to come to Buffalo, which they did. Richard was a cabinet maker and woodcarver, and his items are disbursed among his family members today. Richard worked for the G.A. Prince Melodeon Company in Buffalo. His children were baptized at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral including Alfred Herbert Barker, great grandfather of Leslie Larson-Bennett. They resided at...... , but the home is now gone. The Barker family moved to Guelph Ontario Canada in 1867, residing at 32 Liverpool St., a hand-hewn limestone cottage still in existence, a beautifully maintained building of historical and architectural significance, being preserved today by its current owners. Richard worked for the Bell Piano & Organ Co.
