In memory of Srgt Wm B Wofford eldest son of H and E Wofford. Died in the city of Richmond VA the 26th Jan 1863 from the effects of a wound rec'd in the Battle of Fredericksburg 13 Dec 1862. He was a member of the 3rd SC Regt and was among the first that responded to the call of his Country. He was a member of the M. E. Church and died resigned to the will of his Maker and we trust is now happy in Heaven.
