Mary Kathryn (Kay) (Homan) Mehler was finally called to our Lord on Saturday, March 27th, just 4 days prior to her 94th birthday.

Kay was born March 31, 1927, in Youngstown, OH. Kay was married to her loving husband, Edmund William Mehler, on October 28, 1950.

Kay always had a laugh, a smile and a shoulder to cry on.

Kay was a founding member of St Jude the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, National Federation of Republican Women & Villa College Alumni Association. She enjoyed golf, bowling, sewing, reading and snuggling with her cat.

Kay was a seamstress at Sugar & Spice, Bridal Elegance & Benson's, as well as a long-time volunteer at Our Lady's Christian School, Girl Scout Leader and the Neighborhood Art House where she read books to children.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband Edmund William Mehler (1993), her sister & loving friend Margaret (Homan) O'Hearn (2015), her parents Raymond & Marvel (Mitchell) Homan (stepmother Gertrude Singer Homan) and infant son Lawrence Mark Mehler.

Anyone who's ever met her knows she has five (hand held up, palm out, fingers spread wide) daughters. Survivors include daughter Nancy (George White) of Lewes, DE, Cathy (Bob Carlett) of Summerville, SC, Betty (Jim Higham) of Longmeadow, MA, Judy (John Keller) of Erie, PA and Cindy (Greg Andera) of Anaheim, CA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Michelle (Rob Moyer and son Luke) of Ormond Beach, FL, Andrew (Tara Hicks and daughter Suzanna) of Montague, MA, Kristen (Curtis Ritz and daughters Lillian, Sydney, Camille) of Annapolis, MD, Katie Carlett of Summerville, SC, Nate Carlett of North Charleston, SC, Michael Higham of San Francisco, CA, Kathryn Higham of Boston, MA, Raine & Chase Chessario of Surfside Beach, SC, Hope & Jack Andera of Anaheim, CA.

A private funeral Mass and burial will take place.
