Wanda Elizabeth Clark, 92, of Mount Storm, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
Born on August 15, 1928 in Mount Storm, WV, she was a daughter of the late Alma Ross and Helen Elizabeth (Anderson) Hanlin and wife of the late Donald Wayne "Peg" Clark. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Millie Coleman, Eileen Minnick, Wilda Beckwith, Lois Ruffey and Rosalie Fletcher; a brother, Larry Hanlin; grandson, Bradley Clark; granddaughter, Misty Clark and step-grandson, Jesse McCoy.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Mount Storm United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang frequently with her fellow choir members during special occasions.
She also loved her flower gardens and had quite a green thumb. Flowers thrived in her gardens. Her greatest pastime was reading. She was never without a book. She read to her children while they were young and then resumed the tradition with her grandchildren. Her children still recall their favorite classics which their mother read during the snowy, blustery nights; Heidi, Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm, The Little Colonel and the Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
Surviving are her son, Jeffrey Clark and wife Bonnie; her daughters, Brenda Callandrella and husband Harry, Rebecca DelSignore, Jackie Clark, Luann Durst and husband Frank and Amy Walsh and husband Larry; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. one step grandchild.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Mount Storm United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rebecca Bennett officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service. Those attending either the visitation or service are reminded that face masks as well as the observance of all social distancing guidelines are required in compliance with health department mandates.
Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jackie Streets and her team from Grant Memorial Hospice and to Margaret Murphy, who took such wonderful care of our Mother.
