Left to cherish her memories is her sister, Marcel Henson and husband, Leroy "Buster", of Spruce Pine; a special nephew, Richard McKinney also of Spruce Pine and her "grandkids": Will and Jessica and "great grandchild", Felix. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Steve Robinson and Rev. Larry Greene will officiate. Private burial will be held in Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
The family wishes to say a very special thank you to her friends and caregivers: Jennifer Lemieux and Toni Crowder, to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge and especially her nurses, Jessica, Megan, and Shannon for the wonderful care given to Lucille. In lieu of flowers Lucille's request was that donations be made to Gideons International at PO Box 611, Spruce Pine, NC 28777
