"Gen. Clemens Is Dead at 78

SUPERIOR (AP)--Brig. Gen. Paul B. Clemens, 78, former assistant superintendent of schools in Milwaukee, died Monday night at a hospital in Duluth. He had been in poor health since last summer.

Gen. Clemens was born in Polk County and educated in Superior public schools, at the old Superior State Teachers College, and the University of Wisconsin.

He joined the Wisconsin National Guard in 1901 and was a member until he retired from the Army in 1944.

He left his school post in 1953 and moved with his wife to Solon Springs. After her death last year he moved to Superior."

"SUPERIOR, Wis. -- (UPI) -- Funeral services are scheduled here Friday for retired MAJ. GEN. PAUL B. CLEMENS, 78, Superior, who was assistant superintendent of schools at Milwaukee, Wis., for 30 years, a former commander of the 32nd division and a founder of the American Legion.

Clemens died at a Duluth, Minn., hospital Monday."BGEN USA
