RAYMOND B. AUSTIN JR.
Raymond B. Austin, Jr., 76, of Great Bend Township, PA passed away on April 1, 2021. He is the son of the late Raymond Sr. and Ruth Austin; and also predeceased by his siblings, Marylyn Dumesnil and George Austin; his companion, Jacqueline Eastwood; his grandson, Richard A. Watkins.
Ray is survived by his children, Raymond (Kelly) Austin III and Marilyn Austin (John Matzo); Jackie's son, Robbie (Ilene) Eastwood; grandchildren, Devan (Andrew) Enright, Kyle, Carter, Morgan, Kara, and Ray; great grandchildren, Andee, Lucee, and Bennee; a brother, Delbert Austin; several nieces, nephews, and extended family; and his frequently visiting granddogs, Winston, Lucy, Shelby, Sammy, and Nash.
Ray was a 1963 graduate of Susquehanna Valley High School. Ray had 32 years of service at IBM, Endicott, NY. He was the co-owner of The Baby Bull Tavern, Conklin, NY. Upon retiring, he took a job at Proctor & Gamble as a Safety Inspector. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Eagles, Syracuse Basketball fan, and NASCAR/Ricky Rudd. Ray enjoyed spending his winters in Myrtle Beach with Jackie. The highlight of his life was watching his grandchildren play sports and compete. Ray respected our veterans, loved our country, and supported his local American Legion and V.F.W.
At his request, there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, please consider treating your family to his favorite pizza at Cortese Restaurant on Robinson Street, Binghamton and enjoy quality time together rooting for the NY Yankees to lose.
