George Kay Ivory

1934-2021

Stansbury Park, UT—George Kay Ivory passed away at his home on Monday, April 5, 2021, at the age of 87. He was born 17 February 1934 in Fountain Green, Utah. He was the son of Ellis Clark Ivory and Mary Erma Nielsen.

George married Dawn Jenille Rowsell on 13 December 1952 in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a veil worker at the Jordan River Temple for many years. He was a volunteer at the Church Museum for 20 years and recently volunteered at This Is The Place Park.

George was an avid historian. He was an active member of the Oregon California Trails Association (OCTA), the Utah Westerners, the Lincoln Highway Association, and many other historical groups.

George was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Cameron, sister, Vonda, daughter Janice Gay White, granddaughter, Melissa, and great-grandson, Nicholas. Survivors include his wife, Jenille, daughter, Leslie Turner (Jim, deceased), son, Russell (Monica), and daughter Dawn Mason (Brad), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother, Ellis (Katie), and a sister Mary Pelk (Gerry).

A private family viewing and graveside service will be held Saturday at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
