Mrs. Mabel Hood

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home for Mrs. Mabel Hood, 72, of 122 Ravine St., who died Thursday at 11:45 a.m. at home after a year's illness.

She was born in Wellsburg, W. Va., June 29, 1898, a daughter of Posey Cheeks and Stella Higgins Cheeks. She had resided in the area for 55 years and retired in 1958 as a decorator from the Hall China Co. after 20 years of employment. She was a member of the Friendship Gospel Tabernacle and the IBPAW. Her husband, Harry G. Hood, died July 7, 1964.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph F. Hood and James E. Hood, both of East Liverpool; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Seevers and Mrs. Myra Clark, also of East Liverpool, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The Rev. Charles R. Taylor of the tabernacle will officiate at the Saturday service. Burial will be in Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home tonight.
