Funeral services for Jimmy Altus Huddleston, 78, will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ricky Maddox.

Jimmy was born on December 1, 1942 in Roanoke, Alabama to Altus and Brasley Huddleston and passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jimmy was a resident of Shreveport and served in the Army National Guard but spent over 40 years of his life as a truck driver. The last 20 years of his career was spent hauling cars at Auto Convoy/Allied Systems. Jimmy was able to enjoy retirement for 20 years which allowed him his greatest adventure of being a full time Papaw to his granddaughters. He was a born-again Christian, loved his family and never met a stranger. Conversations with him were the best. You always walked away feeling better about life and this crazy world we live in. Meeting him assured you there were still good-hearted, genuine people on this earth. He treasured his friendships but lived each day for his girls; Carol, Rebecca, Tami and Bethany. Even though this world seems a little darker without him, we know Heaven is now a little brighter.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bobby Joe Huddleston. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over 41 years, Carol Huddleston; daughter, Rebecca Huddleston Burk and fiance', Larry Wayne Ferguson; granddaughters, Tami Burk and Bethany Burk; bonus grandsons, Colton Ferguson and Jackson Ferguson; a host of extended family and friends; and his very dear Alabama cousins.

Honoring Jimmy as pallbearers will be Justin Gouthiere, Evan Kelleher, Brandon Avant, Nicholas Avant, Josh DeLoach, Tanner DeLoach, Gunner Gruner, Kenion Wixon, and Chase Love.

The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
