Carlos "Carlie" Lee Pitman, 75 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, joined the love of his life, Barbara in eternity on Monday, April 5th, 2021 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center with his loving family by his bedside.

Carlos was born on March 26th, 1946, son of the late Everette and Ruth Taylor Pitman. Carlos was of the Christian faith, he was a prayerful man and had such a very grateful heart. He was always saying thank you to everyone that helped him, and he showed kindness to everyone. He enjoyed watching Church services on TV, listening to praise and worship music with his daughter, Ruth every afternoon. He shared so many special moments with his family. He cherished the time God have him on this earth. While his caregivers, his daughter and son-in-law worked, he spent time with his grandson, Kaven, who was his best friend, they loved watching western movies, and talking about Carlos's childhood. Kaven loved taking care of his "Pa". He also looked forward to his granddaughter coming and spending the night with him, they would eat snacks, watch TV and talk to the early hours of morning. He called her his little "coffee maker".

Carlos never met a stranger, he was kind to everyone. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. His kindness and love for people will never be forgotten. He was the heart of his family and loved by so many. He had a special bond with his son-in-law, "Nate". They would sit and listen to old records together, he slept in a chair beside Carlos's bed so he could be there if he needed him. He took him to every doctor's appointment and spent many hours by his bedside in the hospital. Carlos always let Nate know how much he appreciated him. He loved his "boys", Terry and Craig, and would spend hours with them talking about all their hunting, fishing, exploring trips and adventures, he loved having all his children at home with him, they all share a very special bond and happy memories together. Carlos never failed to let his family and friends know how much he loved them. Everyone had a special place in his big beautiful heart. He had a very close relationship with his sisters, Janice "Jenny" and Ed Barrett and Wilma Loveless. No matter how sick he was or how much pain he was in, spending time with them always made him feel better. They showered their brother with love, and was there for him when he needed them the most. They were by his bedside when he departed this life. Carlos loved all his brothers and sisters very much. The stories he loved to share with everyone of his siblings, showed the loved he had for them. Carlos was known as "Pa" or "Daddy Carlie", everyone of the Hospice nurses came to love him and called him "Pa Carlie" and loved each of them.

Carlos had three biological children, but he was also called "Daddy Carlie" by his nieces, Tia Wilson, Nikki Wilson Ramos, Seayara Palmer, and a nephew, Davidde Wilson. He loved all of his nieces and nephews, to him they were his children. His niece, Misty Pitman and nephew, James Pitman adored their uncle Carlie and was by his bedside when he took his last breath to go join their Daddy, his brother, "Euby" in Heaven. Carlos was blessed with a full life of family and friends, who will cherish every memory they have of him.

Carlos was survived by his children, Terry Dewayne Pitman, Ruth Marie and Nathan Donnie Smith, Cray Dewayne Pitman, all of Somerset, Kentucky; a special nephew, he called his son, Davidde (and Shali) Wilson of Somerset, Kentucky; one brother, Gary (and Kaye) Pitman; two sisters, Janice "Jenny" (and Ed) Barrett of Russell Springs, Kentucky and Wilma Pitman Loveless of Somerset, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Karsen K. Chandler, NaKeysha "Keysha" Faith and (Bailie) Smith, Kaven Nathan Smith, Christen Pitman, Dylan Pitman, Breanna Pitman and Brandon Pitman, Dylan Pitman; two brother-in-laws, Ed Barrett and Ronnie Dykes; two sister-in-laws, Glenda Hood Pitman and Kaye Pitman; close family friends for over 33 years, Betty Smith and Stacey Smith; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Lee Pitman, who departed this life on February 6th, 2004 and Ruth Pitman, who departed this life on July 10th, 1968; his loving wife, Robby Mae "Barbara" Loveless Pitman, who departed this life on June 25th, 2014; three brothers, Larry Dale Pitman, Delmar Eugene "Euby" Pitman, and Denzil Lee "Bummy" Pitman; one sister, Beverly Pitman Dykes; two sister-in-laws, Pricella "Sheryl" Pitman and Nancy Loveless; two brother-in-laws, Lonnie Loveless and George Loveless; and a special nephew that was like his son, Steven "Stevie" Loveless.

Visitations were held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9th, 2021 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Reynolds and Bro. Tim Caldwell officiating.

Burial followed in the Rock Lick Cemetery.
